Here's a nice and attractive place for foodies in Nice. Next to Place Garibaldi, opposite the bus station, on the way to the old town, La Mamma is a must for those who feel the need to try a typical restaurant in a friendly atmosphere.

Plentiful meals with lots of Italian and Nice specialities: "farcis" (stuffed  tomatoes, onions, courgettes and aubergines), beef stew, gratins with homemade Mama gnocchis, raviolis of Nice, fresh tagliatelles, chard pie, creme brulee, all essentials that we enjoy trying for the first time or that we have for pleasure as everything is homemade. For those eager to discover new  flavours, three or four day specials are suggested every day in addition to the menu.You can enjoy  the dishes in the beautiful rustic dining-room or on the terrace facing Square Auguste Icart where children can go and play around if they want to and the atmosphere is really congenial. For two years now, a new team has been in command ; in the evenings, Gilles, the boss, who already worked at "Nissa la bella", "La Plassa", "Niel's club" and his partner Patrick of  "la Tour de la Pizza". At lunchtime, Eric, the Chef and Francis, the bartender, former bartender of Brasserie Felix Faure as well as young Cyril,the waiter who makes customers happy with his good humour, they all do their best to welcome you in an open and friendly atmosphere that regulars and tourists greatly appreciate. Everyone enjoys having a good time with such a team especially when there are Theme Nights on Fridays and Saturdays. In the dining-room, two guitars are at the customers' disposal, they can play and sing if they feel like it. Last but not least , Eric, the Chef won't hesitate to leave his piano to play the guitar and sing a few songs with quite a talent. Fun guaranteed!
